This page covers the BatteryGuard website and app. The data controller is Alessio Cardelli, info@alessiocardelli.com.
Visit statistics
The site uses Vercel Web Analytics to count visits. For each page view it records the page, the site you came from, your country, and the type of browser, operating system and device. Visitors are told apart by a hash of the request, discarded after 24 hours. It sets no cookies, and the figures can only be seen in aggregate. The legal basis is a legitimate interest in knowing how the site is used.
Cookies
When you pick a language with the selector, the site sets one technical cookie, bg-locale. It holds only "en" or "it" and lasts a year. There are no other cookies and no other tracking.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web server, it processes your IP address to deliver the pages, under Vercel's privacy policy.
Download
The download button takes you to GitHub, where the file is published. From there, GitHub's privacy statement applies.
The app
BatteryGuard collects no data and never connects to the internet. It reads your Mac's battery level and switches charging on or off. You can check this in the code on GitHub.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask which data concerns you, have it corrected or deleted, and object to its use. Write to info@alessiocardelli.com. You can also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority, which in Italy is the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
